Jubilee of Catechists 2025
Meeting with Blessed Eugénie Joubert, as part of the Jubilee for Catechists held in Rome from September 26 to 28, 2025.
A meeting that bears witness to the relevance of the message conveyed by the blessed! Although she dates back to the last century, Eugénie Joubert is able to touch the hearts and minds of today.
A special gift for the Pope

Exhibition “Eugénie Joubert, a catechist of fire”
Throughout the Jubilee of Catechists, the Church of St. Louis of the French in Rome hosted the exhibition “Eugénie Joubert, Catechist of Fire.”
This young catechist, whom Monsignor Henri Brincard, bishop of Le Puy (where Eugénie was born), described as a “catechist of fire” after Pope Saint John Paul II had pointed her out as a model for catechists, is presented in six lively panels, intended for young and old alike.
Numerous visitors were happy to (re)discover, pray, and learn about a figure who, after all, is a contemporary.
Vigil of adoration of the relics of Eugénie Joubert
On September 26, 2025, all those who wished to do so, catechists and non-catechists alike, were able to gather in prayer before the relics of Blessed Eugénie Joubert in the church of Saint-Louis-des-Français. They had the honor of being accompanied by the Rector, Father Jean-Christophe Meyer.
Here, the reliquary containing a lock of Eugénie Joubert’s hair (a relic given by the Missionary Sisters of Divine Revelation and authenticated by Cardinal Mauro Piacenza).
“Proclaiming one's faith, 1700 years after Nicaea”
Bishop Jean-Pierre Delville: “With regard to the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed, it can be said that the reflections of Blessed Eugénie Joubert are not a commentary on the Creed, but rather a response.”
Mother Rebecca Nazzaro: “Our providential encounter and the legacy of Blessed Eugénie Joubert.”
Thanks to François Vayne, journalist and director of communications for the Grand Magisterium of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre in the Vatican, and to Father Renaud Escande, administrator of the Pieux Etablissements de France in Rome and Loreto, for organizing this rich moment of exchange.

Oratorio inspired by Eugénie Joubert – September 27, 2025
Magnificent oratorio in the Basilica of Sant’Andrea della Valle in Rome performed during the Jubilee of Catechists: “Ancora di più” (“Even more”).
Created especially by Marcello Bronzetti based on the 37 notebooks written by Eugénie Joubert between 1887 and 1904, with Asia Cannone in the role of Eugénie, Fatima Lucarini as narrator (and much more!), numerous soloists, with the Fideles and Amati choir and orchestra, conducted by Tina Vasaturo.
Marcello Bronzetti previously composed and performed with Fideles and Amati in Rome, in 2016, an oratorio dedicated to Mother Teresa for her canonization, in 2022, for the canonization of Charles de Foucauld, and in 2018, in Lourdes, for the 160th anniversary of the apparitions of Mary to Bernadette.

“Friends of Blessed Eugénie Joubert" in Rome
Belgium, France, Italy… many countries represented by the “Friends of Blessed Eugenia Joubert” who, on the occasion of the Jubilee of Catechists in Rome, expressed their attachment to the blessed.
Special thanks to François Vayne, journalist without borders, and Fatima Lucarini, artist, faithful “ambassadors” of our dear Eugenia, without whom nothing would have been possible!
Thanks to them and to Christophe Jankowiak for bringing the banner “Friends of Blessed Eugénie Joubert” to St. Peter’s Square, greeted by Pope Leo XIV. An unforgettable moment!
Press - Radio - TV
Presented to catechists around the world, the Italian and foreign media present in Rome during the Jubilee of Catechists were keen to focus on the life and spirituality of Blessed Eugénie Joubert and to interview those who speak about her with expertise and love, such as Bishop Jean-Pierre Delville (Bishop of Liège) and François Vayne (author of a “15 Days of Prayer” dedicated to her).
